Will Ronaldo Return to Tehran?
WANA (Feb 11) – Saudi club Al-Nassr has submitted visa applications for all players on its AFC Champions League squad, including Cristiano Ronaldo, ahead of their upcoming match in Tehran.
Saudi media reported yesterday that head coach Stefano Pioli is considering resting key players against Iran’s representative, as Al-Nassr has already secured qualification for the next round.
However, the club has still requested visas for its entire registered squad, and Iran’s Football Federation’s international relations department is handling the necessary procedures.
Despite receiving a visa, Ronaldo’s participation remains uncertain, as Pioli may ultimately decide to leave the Portuguese superstar out of the traveling squad.
Al-Nassr is set to face Persepolis on February 17 at Azadi Stadium in the final match of the AFC Champions League group stage.
