WANA (May 06) – The winners of the 3rd International Media Festival “Sobh” were announced and honored today in the presence of international media professionals.

 

The award ceremony took place at the International Conference Center of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), with the participation of the head of IRIB, prominent domestic and international guests, and well-known anti-imperialist and anti-hegemony figures.

 

Special awards of the festival were presented as follows:

 

The Martyr Ismail Haniyeh Award was given to Clare Daly and Mick Wallace, former Members of the European Parliament, and George Galloway, former British MP, for their political support of Palestine and the resistance.

 

The Martyr Ahmad Abou Al-Rous Award was awarded to Ahmad Sahmoud, Al-Alam TV reporter in Gaza, for his distinguished journalism covering the Palestinian resistance.

 

The Martyr Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah Award was granted to Iranian graphic artist Masoud Nejabati for his contributions to the art of resistance.

The festival’s three main award categories include:

 

  • Haniyeh Award – For individuals providing political support to Palestine and resistance movements.
  • Nasrallah Award – For artists who have immortalized the message of resistance through their work.
  • Abou Al-Rous Award – For journalists who have made outstanding contributions in narrating the story of Palestinian resistance.

 

The third edition of the Sobh International Media Festival was held at the IRIB International Conference Center. This year’s theme focused on media and the new world order, with an emphasis on local and regional identities and spiritual values.

 

The festival received 4,160 entries from 40 countries, including the Netherlands, Argentina, Tunisia, Afghanistan, Russia, Peru, South Korea, Lebanon, Qatar, Syria, Italy, the UK, Singapore, Germany, Brazil, the U.S., China, Ireland, and Palestine. Of these, 533 entries were in the Palestine category and 3,627 in the main competition.

 

Submission categories included:

 

  • For the Palestine section: TV programs, news bloggers, illustrations, music videos, short films, documentaries, and short animations.
  • For the main section: social media content, radio programs, podcasts, written media, motion graphics, news reports, documentaries, and television programs.

The festival also features four expert panels covering topics such as:

 

  • Developments in West Asia after the Al-Aqsa Storm
  • The role of social media in countering dominant narratives
  • The decline of U.S. hegemony and the emergence of a new global order
  • The influence of the Israeli lobby on Western political institutions

 

Additionally, several professional workshops are being held, covering:

 

Investigative journalism, Political documentary filmmaking, War journalism, Political magazine design and production, Journalism focused on West Asian issues, Managing analytical news platforms, Video content production for social media, International co-production of feature films, Social media management

 

For the first time, this edition of the festival includes an International Media Products Market, featuring the participation of several foreign and Iranian TV networks and media companies.

 

Running until May 8 (18 Ordibehesht), the 3rd Sobh International Media Festival is positioned as a strategic cultural and media event aiming to shape global media discourse around key issues such as Palestine, the decline of U.S. hegemony, and the formation of a new world order.
