WANA (Mar 17) – The “Women and the Splendor of Iranian Culture” photo exhibition was held on the sidelines of the 58th session of the UN Human Rights Council at the United Nations headquarters in Geneva. The event was organized with the participation of the Vice Presidency for Women and Family Affairs of Iran, the Institute for the Protection of Women’s Rights, the International Development Activists Institute, and the Association for the Protection of Civil Rights.

Iran’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations in Geneva, in collaboration with the Vice Presidency for Women and Family Affairs, hosted this exhibition from Monday, March 17, to Friday, March 21, 2025. The event aimed to showcase the pivotal role of women in the dynamism, enrichment, and continuity of Iran’s cultural heritage.

Iranian culture and arts, deeply rooted in an ancient civilization, have long been influenced by the strong and inspiring presence of women. This exhibition presented a collection of photographs capturing the cultural diversity of Iran through the lens of women’s contributions to various artistic and cultural fields. By highlighting talented, creative, and entrepreneurial women from different ethnicities and regions of Iran, the exhibition demonstrated their role in shaping, sustaining, and transmitting Iran’s rich cultural heritage.

The event was open to diplomats, permanent missions, UN observers, and the international audience in Geneva.

The 58th session of the UN Human Rights Council, taking place from February 24 to April 4, 2025, will address various human rights issues, with specialized reports presented by UN rapporteurs.
