WANA (July 22) – The former Iranian Foreign Minister emphasized that the Strategic Action Law regarding nuclear negotiations is the country’s law and must be followed.

In a message on the social network X, Mohammad Javad Zarif wrote: “Regardless of personal views, the Strategic Action Law regarding nuclear negotiations is the country’s law and must be adhered to. As I explained to the UN Secretary-General a few days before leaving my post (letter S/2021/669), the United States and the three European countries/EU have only themselves to blame for continuously violating their commitments, causing significant harm to the Iranian people and provoking our legislators to react.

They are interested in rectifying their past behavior and ensuring Iran’s unobstructed access to the agreement’s benefits. Iran has acted entirely within its rights under the JCPOA in taking compensatory measures. The incoming administration of President-elect Medikazan is ready to engage in good-faith talks—consistent with the JCPOA and Iranian laws—to ensure mutual adherence to this unparalleled diplomatic achievement.”
