WANA (May 29) – Amir Ali Hajizadeh, the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Aerospace Force commander, informed the end of the hypersonic missile tests and its unveiling shortly.

 

In November of last year, Hajizadeh declared the construction of this new missile to improve Iran’s deterrence and military self-sufficiency and called it a giant generational leap in rockets.

 

According to the divisions, missiles with a speed of about Mach 1.5 to 5 are in the supersonic range. Rockets with a speed of Mach 5 to 10 are in the hypersonic range, and missiles with speeds between Mach 10 and 25 are also in the high-hypersonic scope.

In one of the latest upgrades made to Iranian ballistic missiles, displayed a few months ago, it turned out that one of the essential features of the new generation of “Qiyam” missiles is the high speed of this missile. The reported rate for this missile is related to the final stage and for its separated warhead and is about Mach 8.5.

 

Russia and China are among the leaders in producing this type of missile. America is also implementing extensive programs to develop the production of hypersonic missiles. Other countries, such as India, North Korea, and Japan, have plans to build hypersonic weapons.

 

 

By acquiring this technology, Iran is among the few countries worldwide with hypersonic missiles.

 

“This missile targets the enemy’s anti-missile systems and is a big generational leap in the field of missiles.” Hajizadeh, the commander of the Aerospace Forces of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), said.
