WANA (Mar 04) – Mohammadreza Baradaran Moti’, a PhD student in landscape architecture at Tarbiat Modares University, has been honored with the title of Future Climate Leader at Oman Climate Week 2025. He was the sole representative from Iran to receive this prestigious recognition after a two-stage expert evaluation process.

Oman Climate Week, held from February 24 to 27, is one of the region’s most significant events addressing climate change and sustainable development. It brings together researchers, specialists, and policymakers from around the world to discuss climate challenges, mitigation strategies, and innovative solutions.

The Future Climate Leader title is awarded to young researchers and activists who have made notable contributions to climate action and sustainability through impactful initiatives.

Participants in the competition underwent an initial assessment by a panel of judges, with selected finalists invited to showcase their projects at the event’s Innovation Exhibition. The winners were ultimately chosen following final presentations and jury evaluations.

Organized by Oman’s Environmental Authority in collaboration with government ministries and international organizations, including the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the event provided a platform for global experts to exchange insights on climate change impacts and sustainability solutions in the Persian Gulf region.

In addition to conferences and expert discussions, the event featured training courses, workshops, panel discussions, and innovation exhibitions.
