34 Foreign Airlines Operating Flights to Iran
WANA (Mar 06) – The CEO of Imam Khomeini Airport City, Saeed Chalanderi, announced that 34 foreign airlines currently operate flights to Iran, and any airline requesting to fly to Imam Khomeini International Airport (IKA) will be accommodated based on permits issued by the Civil Aviation Organization.
Saeed Chalanderi stated that major international airlines, including Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, Qatar Airways, and Emirates, are among those operating flights to IKA. “There are no restrictions on foreign flights to Iran,” he emphasized.
Chalanderi added that any Aviation company wishing to operate flights to Iran can submit a request, which will be reviewed according to the regulations of the Civil Aviation Organization.
He further noted that Imam Khomeini Airport City is fully prepared to cooperate with foreign aviation authorities based on agreements between Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization and the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development with their international counterparts.
He also highlighted that the schedules of these airlines vary based on seasons and demand throughout the year. “Including 14 domestic flights, approximately 48 airlines operate flights to Imam Khomeini International Airport on 58 to 68 different routes,” Chalanderi concluded.
