WANA (Dec 01) – The Iranian Foreign Minister emphasized that “diplomacy without the field and strength is powerless” and stated, “Strength and the field find their way through diplomacy.”

This morning, Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, speaking at a ceremony commemorating Iran’s Navy Day, said, “Being here amidst the current regional and international political tensions, and seeing the determined, capable, and spirited faces of the armed forces and their commanders, as well as witnessing the capabilities, equipment, and power of the Islamic Republic’s armed forces—particularly the formidable ships built by the Iranian Navy that safeguard Iran’s maritime security—not only fills one with pride but also provides reassurance.”

The head of Iran’s diplomatic apparatus added, “We rely on loyal forces who ensure our security, serve as the cornerstone of our power, and chart and elevate the path of our progress.”

Araghchi further stressed that “diplomacy is a less costly, less risky, and better path to achieving goals” but acknowledged, “The truth is that diplomacy advances when it draws on a country’s internal strengths. Diplomacy without the support of national power and the forces backing it cannot succeed. In reality, the field and diplomacy complement each other. Diplomacy without the field is powerless, while strength and the field advance and find their way through diplomacy, ultimately safeguarding national dignity.”

He continued, “As a diplomat, I have always taken pride in relying on the pillars of Iran’s national power, foremost among them our military strength—today exemplified by Iran’s naval power in the Persian Gulf. We are a great nation with a vast land, a glorious history, and enduring magnificence. We have been, are, and will remain a proud people.”

The senior Iranian diplomat specifically expressed his gratitude to the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, particularly the Navy, for ensuring the country’s security during the past few turbulent months, a period marked by heightened threats from adversaries. “The strength of our armed forces has thwarted the plans of our enemies and left them disappointed,” he remarked.

Araghchi noted, “In recent months, diplomacy, alongside and complementing the armed forces, has played a significant role in defending the nation’s territorial integrity and security. Despite the challenges, our forces have acted with determination and preparedness, foiling any attack on the Islamic Republic and leaving our adversaries frustrated and powerless.”

He concluded, “We face new conspiracies every day. Today, the presence of Takfiri terrorist forces has been added to the threats posed by our enemies. It has become evident how these Takfiri groups align with the United States and the Israeli regime. These groups and their supporters must understand that they stand no chance against the forces of resistance and those fighting for the dignity and honor of the region. Over the years, their failures have been evident, and it is clear that the United States, the Israeli regime, Takfiri terrorist groups, and their backers are aligned in a single direction—a historical reality we continue to witness.”
