Araghchi: Regional Dialogue Is a Necessity, Not an Option
WANA (Nov 13) – Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, in a post on X, emphasized that regional dialogue is not merely an option but an essential requirement for addressing the region’s challenges.
Araghchi, who attended the second summit of Islamic and Arab leaders in Riyadh, highlighted his recent meetings with several foreign ministers on the sidelines of the summit. “We all recognize the importance of cooperation and coordination in confronting key regional challenges,” he said, stressing the need for continued dialogue among neighboring countries. “We agreed that regional dialogue is not an option, but a necessity.”

The Iranian diplomat also mentioned his previous visits to Saudi Arabia, where he met with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan. These talks were part of ongoing consultations with regional countries.
Regarding the Riyadh summit, Araghchi noted that it was the second time Arab and Islamic leaders gathered to discuss issues like Palestine, Lebanon, and Israeli atrocities. He stated that a strong 38-point resolution was adopted, condemning Israel’s actions and warning against escalating regional tensions.
“The summit produced firm positions, particularly condemning Israel’s recent attacks on Iran,” Araghchi added, calling the summit a positive step for regional solidarity.
