WANA (Sep 29) – Iran’s Foreign Minister, offering condolences over the death of the resistance commander, Seyed Hassan Nasrallah, stated: “The martyrdom of Nasrallah will further strengthen Hezbollah and lead to its greater growth. This loss will not weaken the resistance. Just as the martyrdom of Seyed Abbas Mousavi, Hezbollah’s former Secretary-General, led to the organization’s growth and increased strength, the same will happen now.”

Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, warned that the region is on high alert following recent events in Lebanon and Gaza, predicting that Israel’s actions will hasten its downfall. He stated, “Israel will never see peace as a result of this,” emphasizing that the blood of martyrs in Lebanon will not go unanswered.

Araghchi accused the U.S. of complicity, declaring, “America is a partner in this crime.” He outlined Iran’s diplomatic response, noting his address to the UN Security Council and meetings with UN Secretary-General António Guterres and the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), urging both to take action against Israel.

He criticized the UN Security Council for its inability to resolve crises due to U.S. obstruction, asserting that the UN Secretary-General must lead efforts to halt Israel’s atrocities. Calling for an urgent summit of regional leaders, Araghchi warned of the risk of a full-scale war, stating, “We are truly in a state of alert. The situation is extremely critical.”

He concluded by highlighting discussions with foreign ministers from Russia, Syria, Egypt, and several European nations regarding the need for a united international response to Israel’s aggressions.
