Diplomatic Process Continues
WANA (Mar 30) – Iranian government spokesperson, referring to Iran’s response to the U.S. negotiation request, wrote: “The diplomatic process continues.”
Fatemeh Mohajerani, in a post on her personal account on the social media platform X on Sunday, March 30, 2025, mentioned that Iran had responded to the U.S. letter in recent days, stating: “Iran’s response to the letter has been prepared and delivered. Accordingly, the path of indirect negotiations with the U.S. has been set, and the diplomatic process continues.”
Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, responded to journalists’ questions on March 27 about Tehran’s timeline for replying to a letter from U.S. President Donald Trump. He stated: “Iran’s official response to Mr. Trump’s letter was appropriately sent via Oman on Wednesday, March 26, 2025.”
The Iranian Foreign Minister further explained that the response included a letter detailing Iran’s perspectives on the current situation and Mr. Trump’s message, which had been fully communicated to the other side.
Araghchi emphasized: “Our policy remains against direct negotiations under maximum pressure and military threats. However, indirect talks, as they have taken place in the past, can continue. Both President Rouhani’s administration and the late President Raisi’s government had engaged in indirect negotiations.”
