WANA (Feb 09) – Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi held separate phone conversations with his counterparts from Turkey, Pakistan, and Tunisia, focusing on regional developments—particularly the escalating crisis in Palestine—and bilateral relations.

Iran-Turkey Talks on Regional Cooperation

In a call with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, both officials exchanged views on the latest developments in the occupied Palestinian territories and Iran-Turkey relations.

Araghchi denounced the forced displacement of Palestinians from Gaza as a continuation of the ongoing genocide, urging Islamic nations to adopt a unified and firm stance against this scheme. He proposed an urgent meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) foreign ministers to address the crisis.

Fidan welcomed the proposal, emphasizing the necessity for sustained support from all Islamic nations for Palestinian rights. He also expressed satisfaction with the positive trajectory of Iran-Turkey relations and underscored the importance of expanding cooperation in various fields.

Iran-Pakistan Coordination on Palestine

In a discussion with Pakistani Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Araghchi praised Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and condemned the forced displacement of Gaza’s residents as part of a colonial plan to erase Palestine.

He called for a unified Islamic response against the scheme and stressed the critical role of the OIC in countering ethnic cleansing efforts in Palestine. Araghchi also criticized the U.S. administration’s stance on Gaza, urging a coordinated international effort to reject such policies.

Dar reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to Palestinian self-determination and denounced any plans to seize Palestinian lands. He highlighted the responsibility of the international community and the OIC in safeguarding the rights of the Palestinian people and expressed support for convening an emergency OIC meeting.

Iran-Tunisia Dialogue on the Palestinian Situation

During a phone conversation with Tunisian Foreign Minister Mohamed Ali Nafti, Araghchi commended Tunisia’s continued solidarity with the Palestinian people amid 16 months of Israeli aggression. He strongly condemned the displacement of Gazans, labeling it a dangerous colonial agenda, and urged a resolute global response.

Araghchi also pointed to the widespread regional and international opposition to the U.S. proposal on Gaza, advocating for a united Islamic stance against such unlawful schemes. He reiterated Iran’s call for an emergency OIC ministerial meeting at the earliest opportunity.

Nafti reaffirmed Tunisia’s commitment to defending Palestinian rights and stressed that Gaza and the West Bank are inseparable parts of Palestine. He rejected any attempts to expel Gazans from their homeland and emphasized the fundamental role of the OIC in protecting Al-Quds and Palestinian sovereignty. Tunisia fully endorsed the proposed OIC meeting to coordinate further action.

Iran-Egypt Consultation on Palestinian

In a phone conversation with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, Araghchi discussed the latest developments in Palestine and the broader region, as well as Iran-Egypt relations.

Araghchi praised Egypt’s stance in defending the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and described the forced displacement of Gazans as a colonial conspiracy aimed at erasing Palestine. He warned that such actions pose a serious threat to regional stability and security.

He also condemned the U.S. administration’s illegal plan regarding Gaza, noting the widespread rejection by numerous countries. Araghchi called for a strong and unified response from Islamic nations to counter this threat to Palestinian sovereignty and emphasized the necessity of holding an urgent OIC ministerial meeting.

For his part, Abdelatty outlined Egypt’s diplomatic efforts to support Palestinian rights and ensure the enforcement of ceasefire agreements to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people and rebuild Gaza. He firmly rejected any attempts to force Gazans out of their land and deemed such actions unacceptable.

Abdelatty welcomed Iran’s proposal for an emergency OIC meeting and stressed the importance of extensive consultations among Islamic nations to coordinate efforts in supporting Palestine.
