Iran: We Won’t Engage in U.S. Election Disputes
WANA (Sep 19) – In response to American media regarding the FBI’s statement about Iran’s interference in U.S. elections through hacking, Iran’s representative at the United Nations stated: “Such claims are completely baseless and lack any credibility or legitimacy, and they are unacceptable.”
The Permanent Mission of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations stated: “As we have clearly stated multiple times, Iran has neither the intention nor the motivation to interfere in U.S. elections, and it strongly denies such accusations.”
The Iranian mission added: “If the U.S. government is genuinely seeking the truth, it should provide its substantiated evidence officially and transparently so that it can receive an appropriate and accurate response.”
The mission continued: “The persistence of such baseless claims will only further discredit them.”
Previously, the Iranian mission responded to allegations from U.S. intelligence and cybersecurity agencies regarding Tehran’s interference in the 2024 U.S. presidential election, saying: “Such claims are unfounded and lack any legitimacy. As we have stated before, Iran has no purpose or motivation to interfere in U.S. elections.”
