WANA (May 05) – Iranian weightlifter Hossein Yazdani claimed the title of the world’s strongest youth athlete after a stunning performance in the +102kg category at the IWF Youth World Championships held in Peru.

Competing as Iran’s sole weightlifter representative, Yazdani secured a total lift of 334kg, earning him the gold medal in both the clean & jerk and overall standings.

Medal-Winning Performance

Snatch: Yazdani successfully lifted 138kg and 144kg in his first two attempts. Though he hoisted 150kg overhead in his final attempt, the lift was ruled invalid, earning him the bronze medal in the snatch.

Clean & Jerk: He opened with a solid 180kg lift, which effectively secured his gold as other competitors failed to complete higher weights. Yazdani then lifted 190kg in his second attempt but was unsuccessful with 200kg in the third. His 190kg effort won him the gold in the clean & jerk.
