WANA (Nov 30) – The spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlighted the International Day of Remembrance for Victims of Chemical Weapons, paying tribute to the military personnel and civilians who suffered from chemical attacks during the Iran-Iraq War. He stated, “Iran continues to demand ‘truth and justice’ concerning German companies and others who actively participated in the development of Iraq’s chemical weapons program.”

 

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Esmaeil Baghaei Hamaneh wrote:

 

“On the International Day of Remembrance for Victims of Chemical Weapons, we honor the memory of Iranian military and civilian victims who were martyred or injured by chemical weapons used by Saddam’s regime during the imposed war (1980–1988).”

 

 

He further emphasized that war crimes are not subject to a statute of limitations, adding, “Therefore, Iran remains steadfast in its demand for ‘truth and justice’ regarding German companies and others who knowingly and actively contributed to Iraq’s chemical weapons program.”
