Iran’s Leader: The US Won’t Get Anywhere with Threats
WANA (Mar 21) – In his Nowruz speech, delivered in the presence of officials and the public, Iran’s Supreme Leader once again responded to U.S. policies and those of its allies toward Iran and the region. He emphasized that in the struggle between right and wrong, victory ultimately belongs to the side of justice, even though the path may come with costs. He also described the large turnout in Friday prayers and official rallies as a sign of Iran’s resilience against foreign pressures.
Referring to the February 11, 2025, rallies marking the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, he called them among the most “historic” street gatherings in Iran, stating that despite economic difficulties, the Iranian people continue to strongly support the Islamic Republic. According to him, this level of participation indicates that Iranian society has not stagnated in its pursuit of “work and progress.”
In another part of his speech, he directly addressed U.S. policies, warning that threats against Iran would be ineffective: “Americans should know that they will never achieve anything through threats against the Iranian nation. If they take action against Iran, they will receive a harsh blow.”
The Leader of the Revolution:
American and European politicians are making a big mistake by calling the #resistance forces in the region #Iran’s proxies.

The Iranian leader also criticized U.S. and European policies toward armed groups in the region, arguing that they misunderstand these forces: “American and European politicians make a big mistake by calling the resistance groups in the region Iran’s proxies. What does ‘proxy’ mean? The people of Yemen are motivated, and the resistance groups in the region have their own motivations. The Islamic Republic does not need proxies.”
He further pointed to the historical support of certain nations for Palestinians, stating that Yemen has been at the forefront of opposition to Israel from the very beginning. He stressed that the opposition of regional nations to Israel and Western policies stems from their own will and determination, not on behalf of Tehran.
In conclusion, he reaffirmed Iran’s support for Palestinian and Lebanese armed groups while maintaining that Iran does not initiate conflicts: “They issue threats, but they should know that we have never been the ones to start a confrontation. However, if anyone takes action, they will face a harsh blow.”
