WANA (Nov 27) – A member of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, Esmail Kowsari, commented on reports about the ceasefire between Hezbollah and the Israeli regime. He stated, “Israel sought victory in Lebanon but suffered a humiliating defeat.”

In an interview, Kowsari said, “On the surface, it appears that the Americans drafted the ceasefire agreement, but in reality, it seems that the Israeli regime pressured the U.S. into taking such action.”

He added, “The Americans were aiming for a victory that would solidify their presence in the region through Israel. However, given the blows they suffered and their increasing global disgrace, they were compelled to make this decision.”

Kowsari noted, “Israel sought to decisively end Hezbollah in Lebanon after the martyrdom of Commander Hassan Nasrallah and his companions. However, 50 days have passed since their martyrdom, and not only has Hezbollah’s strength and resistance not diminished, but attacks on occupied territories have significantly increased. In recent days, we have witnessed Hezbollah’s missile strikes on Haifa, Tel Aviv, and other cities under the Israeli regime.”

He continued, “On the other hand, Israel’s armored and infantry divisions failed to penetrate even a single village in Lebanon. Instead, Hezbollah delivered severe and crushing blows to the Israeli army, causing substantial casualties.”

Kowsari emphasized, “The condemnation of these corrupt elements, including Netanyahu and his former defense minister, is another reason for Israel’s retreat. Another indication of their defeat was seen two weeks ago, during the peak of the war, when Netanyahu dismissed his defense minister. Changing a commander in the midst of battle is a clear admission of failure. Such a move, especially in critical circumstances, is a hallmark of total defeat.”

He further explained, “Hezbollah’s resilience, along with the steadfastness of the people of Lebanon, Gaza, and Palestine, played a significant role in forcing Israel to agree to a ceasefire. The support and actions of freedom seekers worldwide, including students, academics, and activists, also contributed to Israel’s withdrawal.”

Kowsari pointed out, “The reputation of liberal and capitalist ideologies, despite all their resources and advanced equipment, has been tarnished. They realized that their bunker-busting bombs and missiles were ineffective. After committing atrocities and achieving no results, they faced disgrace and sought a ceasefire.”

He concluded, “Those who once claimed to uphold human rights have lost all credibility due to the crimes they committed against women and children. By targeting hospitals and civilians, they revealed their true face to the world. Hezbollah must remain vigilant and continue to address this matter with utmost caution.”
