Pezeshkian: We Will Not Compromise Our Achievements
WANA (Apr 09) – President of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, attended the National Nuclear Technology Day event this morning at the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI). During the ceremony, six new nuclear achievements in the fields of health, medicine, and radiopharmaceuticals, alongside Mohammad Eslami, the head of AEOI, were unveiled. Pezeshkian also delivered a speech to the organization’s staff.
In his address, Pezeshkian emphasized that Iran is not pursuing nuclear weapons, reaffirming the nation’s commitment to peaceful nuclear technology, as Iran’s Supreme Leader has issued a decree in this regard. He criticized foreign narratives that suggest Iran has ambitions to develop nuclear bombs, asserting that these claims are baseless.
Iran’s president stated: “We talk the way His Excellency the Supreme Leader said, indirectly and with dignity and pride, and with any guarantees necessary to show that we are not seeking nuclear bombs. Every time, ten times, a hundred times, a thousand times they have come and investigated, and they can come again. We have not been seeking, are not seeking, and will not be seeking nuclear bombs.”

He further reiterated that Iran does not seek war, but in the face of any aggression, it will stand firmly with its power. In another part, he stated that Iran is not an aggressor and that it considers all neighboring countries as brothers, emphasizing Iran’s long-standing stance of cooperation and peace.
“We are not seeking war, but against any aggression, with the knowledge and strength that our dear ones ( scientists) have created, we stand with power. The more they hit, the stronger we will get; the more they threaten, the firmer we will stand. We are not the aggressors; we are not intending to attack anyone, he stated.”
Pezeshkian also addressed foreign investment, stating that Iran welcomes foreign investors, including those from the U.S., but the country remains opposed to the harmful policies and conspiracies imposed by external actors. He stressed that Iran’s issues lie with these foreign policies, not with foreign investments themselves.
Iran’s president further mentioned that Iran’s FM, Araghchi, would be engaging in indirect talks with U.S. representatives in Oman, following the guidance of the Supreme Leader. He continued that as Iran’s Supreme Leader has stated, Iran is ready for negotiations, but not directly, cause Iran does not trust the U.S.

Iran’s president: “Iran is not a place where a group comes, plots, and truly destroys the country. Gather information and then come and assassinate the people who gathered that information (referring to the assassination of Iranian scientists). Invest, come and invest in the country. His Excellency the Supreme Leader said that we are ready for negotiations, but not directly, because we do not trust.”
“On Saturday, Dr. Araghchi, with the recommendations and guidance that His Excellency the Supreme Leader gave, will have an indirect conversation with U.S. representatives in Oman, and our position regarding (nuclear) issues is clear, which His Excellency the Supreme Leader has repeatedly said: it is clear and firm. As for other issues where we can interact with each other and have interacted, God willing, dialogue will take place, Pezeshkian said.”
“If we are defenseless, will they come to defend us? If we are defenseless, will they come to help us? They will do to us what they are doing to the innocent people in Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria”, Pezeshkian stated regarding the West’s request from Iran of being disarmed.

“We want peace, we want security, we are people of dialogue, but with dignity and pride. We will not compromise on our achievements, we will not trade them, and we will never allow anyone to stop us from thinking, from being innovative, from being creative”, he said.
He further criticized the countries involved in destabilizing the region: “Are we destabilizing the region? Are we causing unrest? Are we committing acts of terrorism? Are we destroying cities? Are we deploying bombers in the region? Why are they deploying them?”
Pezeshkian continued: “Are we continuing to equip countries in the region and incite conflict among them, so that they can sell their resources, factories, and equipment, and make people and Muslims fight against each other? Are we doing this? Or are these people who claim to represent civilization, security, and peace turning the world into a battleground, and the region into a place of real conflict and slaughter?”
