WANA (May 15) – Major General Hossein Salami, Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), during a ceremony marking the anniversary of the death of Seyed Ebrahim Raisi (former Iranian president), referred to hostile U.S. policies and addressed Donald Trump, saying:  “The Iranian nation considers you the murderer of its most important hero, Martyr Qassem Soleimani.”

He added that Trump has recently launched a psychological operation against Iran, aimed at spreading hopelessness among the Iranian people. General Salami also pointed to Trump’s contradictory behavior, stating: “Mr. President! You once called the Iranian nation terrorists—how is it that today you claim to be a friend of this nation?”

The IRGC commander stressed that Trump stands at the epicenter of hostility toward Iran and that his policies have blocked Iran’s access to medicine and other essential needs.

In his speech, Major General Salami said the Iranian nation holds painful memories of American domination, beginning with the 1953 coup d’état. He emphasized that Iran has consistently resisted American hostility, and at every historical juncture, has brought Washington’s policies to failure.

He further addressed Trump directly, saying: “There is a wide gap between what exists in your mind and the realities of Iran. You know neither the Iranian nation, nor the Islamic Republic system, nor Islam itself.”

He added that American policies toward Iran have always been met with resistance from the Iranian people—and this resistance will continue. Major General Salami continued: “We take pride in the elevation of our character, our culture, and our national identity—not in tall buildings.”

He highlighted the fundamental differences between the values of the Iranian people and the materialistic standards of the West, emphasizing that Iran has always stood firm on the foundation of its rich culture and national identity.

He also referenced America’s hostile policies against Iran and said that the Iranian nation has resisted foreign pressure and remained committed to its principles.

Touching on the economic and social conditions in the United States, Salami stressed that the Iranian nation is proud of its political independence and sees no need for dependency on foreign powers.

He added that America is in no position for Iran to feel compelled to change its decisions. Salami also referred to Iran’s scientific and technological advancements, stating: “We have sent several satellites into space—you yourselves admit that Iran has advanced in technology. Is this not progress?”

The IRGC commander also praised Iran’s healthcare system, calling it one of the best healthcare systems in the world. Referring to the COVID-19 crisis in the United States, he addressed Trump: “You failed in managing the coronavirus pandemic. We saw that you were even incapable of burying your own dead. If that’s not the case, then tell us otherwise.”

General Salami also referenced the homelessness crisis in the U.S., asking: “Don’t 730,000 homeless people sleep on your streets at night?”

In his speech, Major General Hossein Salami also announced that Iran has achieved a new technology in defense capability recently, though he did not reveal details. He emphasized that this achievement demonstrates Iran’s scientific and technological progress under the pressure of sanctions and indicates a shift in power.

General Salami reiterated Iran’s determination to live with dignity and strength, stating that the country is prepared for any challenge. He also stated that Iran has made significant advances in both scientific and military fields, and this path will continue forward.
