WANA (May 20) – The Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar emphasized: We are in talks with Iran and Oman to bridge the gap between Washington and Tehran.

Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar, said: The Middle East and the countries of the Persian Gulf are a priority for the U.S. administration. The relationship between Qatar and the United States has remained strong under all administrations.

He added: The visit of U.S. President Donald Trump to the Middle East was significant, and we discussed regional security and economic cooperation. We are pleased that the Middle East and the Persian Gulf region are a priority for the Trump administration.

He said: We are trying to mediate an agreement that would release hostages and alleviate the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza. Since the beginning of the Gaza war, we have been working to reach an agreement to end it and return the hostages to their families.

Over the past year and a half, it has become clear that negotiation is the only way. Prisoner exchange talks were often disrupted by political games.

The Qatari Prime Minister said: We are in talks with Iran and Oman to bridge the gap between Washington and Tehran. Donald Trump is trying to prevent an escalation of tensions with Iran, and this is a positive development.
