WANA (Jun 15) – Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) announced in a statement that the memorandum of understanding related to negotiations aimed at ending the war between Iran and the United States has been finalized. According to the statement, all military operations and hostilities on every front will cease immediately and permanently starting tonight.

The statement said that the Islamic Republic of Iran, “under the guidance of its martyred leader,” had consolidated its superiority over its “American-Zionist enemy.” It added that, under the direction of the country’s current Supreme Leader, with the support of the Iranian people and the efforts of Iranian military forces, Iran concluded the text of the memorandum following several months of difficult and intensive negotiations.

According to the SNSC, the agreement was finalized on the evening of June 14 as part of the process known as the “Islamabad Talks,” which were conducted between Iran and the United States under a resolution approved by the council.

The statement noted that, under the terms of the agreement, war and military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon, will come to an immediate and permanent end beginning tonight. It also stated that the naval blockade imposed on Iran will be lifted immediately and in full.

The SNSC further announced that the memorandum of understanding will be formally signed on June 19.

The statement added that negotiations on a final agreement will begin only after the other side fulfills its commitments under the memorandum.

In its concluding remarks, the Supreme National Security Council expressed appreciation to the governments of Pakistan and Qatar for their efforts and assistance in facilitating the negotiation process.
