WANA (Mar 09) – This morning, the Commander of Iran’s border security department reported that the country’s border guards arrested members of a terrorist group who were attempting to enter Iran to carry out subversive activities. The suspects were apprehended by the border regiment of Nehbandan in South Khorasan Province.

“Border guards of Nehbandan border regiment, with intelligence and mastery of information in the borders of South Khorasan province, were informed about the intention of a terrorist group to enter the country and carry out sabotage activities,” said Commandor Godarzi, the commander of the border guarding force.

 

According to his statement, the guards maintained a high level of vigilance and successfully gained control over the identified areas. During an armed conflict, they effectively dealt with the terrorist group, prevented their entry into the country, and prevented a potentially catastrophic situation.

This senior Faraja Border Guard official stated that in this operation, several members of this group were injured and fled to the territory of the neighboring country.

 

During the investigation, a considerable quantity of explosive equipment was found in this group’s possession. The confiscated items included war mines, TM metal mines, remote control transmitters, and receivers, ammunition, night vision cameras, and other accompanying equipment.
