WANA (Jul 01) – As Iran’s security and law enforcement agencies continue efforts to combat espionage and sabotage, authorities announced the arrest of several individuals in Tehran and Lorestan, allegedly linked to the Israeli regime.

According to Tehran Police, an individual with a confirmed identity was apprehended following intelligence surveillance, on charges of collaboration with the Israeli regime.

The suspect was accused of transmitting the locations of sensitive sites in Tehran, filming market conditions, and maintaining ties with anti-regime networks and social media accounts, particularly on platform X.

Police report that the individual also sent messages requesting attacks on officials and strategic centers at the behest of Israeli operatives.

Additional arrests included:

  • A provocateur accused of inciting riots and unrest in Tehran.
  • An individual accused of encouraging clashes between citizens and security forces.
  • Operatives who allegedly received $2,000 in exchange for sending geolocation data of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) headquarters and a senior official’s residence.
  • Suspected agents of the Israeli regime reportedly preparing to deploy explosive micro-drones and quadcopters in the deserts surrounding Tehran. Police claim to have seized control equipment, bombs, and drone parts during these operations.

Lorestan Province: Weapons Trafficking Ring Dismantled

In a separate operation in western Iran, the Lorestan Police Force dismantled a major arms trafficking ring in the city of Pol-e Dokhtar.

The commander of Lorestan Law Enforcement stated that three suspects were arrested, and a search of their vehicle led to the seizure of over 22,000 Kalashnikov assault rifle rounds.

The suspects allegedly loaded the ammunition in western provinces with plans to transport the cargo to the southern regions of the country.

Arrest of 50 Israeli Spies in Sistan and Baluchestan

As part of a broader national security effort, Iranian forces have also made significant progress in the southeast. Over the past two weeks, more than 50 members of terrorist-affiliated cells have been arrested in southern Sistan and Baluchestan, with two others killed in armed clashes.

Security sources say the arrested individuals were connected to terrorist groups operating in eastern Iran. Their objectives reportedly included destabilizing the region through sabotage and disruptive attacks targeting infrastructure, economic assets, and civilian safety.

A substantial cache of weaponry—including American-made arms—was seized during the operations. Authorities emphasize that efforts to identify and apprehend remaining domestic collaborators and armed elements in the region are ongoing.
