WANA (Apr 10) – Naser Kanaani, Spokesman of the Iranian ministry of foreign affairs, held his weekly press conference today April 10th, where he made comments about the new aggressions by Israel in Palestinian lands and the updates on re-establishment of ties between Iran and Saudi Arabia.

 

Kanaani stated: ” The Zionist regime will not spare any opportunity for violent actions against Palestine and the countries of the region.” The foreign ministry spokesman added that Israel is trying to export its own crisis to Palestine as well.

 

With the advent of Quds Day, the annual pro-Palestinian day held on the last Friday of Ramadan coming up on April 14th, Kanaani added that the Iranian people will express their support for the Palestinian cause on the aforementioned day.

 

When asked about details of delegations sent between Iran and Saudi Arabia concerning the re-establishment of ties between the two nations after eight years, the spokesman stated that “a Saudi delegation arrived in Tehran on Saturday to assess the groundwork for the reopening of the Saudi embassy in Tehran and the consulate in Mashhad.”

Kanaani added that Iran would be sending its own delegation to the Arab kingdom within the coming days as well to open its own embassy and the consulate located in Jeddah.

 

The FM spokesman spoke about the Yemen conflict as well, stating: “We have always rejected a military solution to the crisis in Yemen.” Kanaani said that it is the Yemeni people who must decide on the future of their nation.
