WANA (May 28) – In a message to Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Dr. Raisi, the Islamic President of Iran, congratulated him on his re-election.

 

Raisi expressed his confidence that in the upcoming years, Iran and Turkey’s friendly relations will be strengthened based on strong historical, cultural, and religious ties, good neighborliness, mutual respect, and shared interests of the two nations, and close cooperation between the two countries in the face of regional developments and The Islamic world will provide more suitable conditions for strengthening peace and stability and development of the region.

The second round of Turkish presidential elections ended today, while Erdogan won 52.12% of the votes and Ghlicdaroglu 47.88%.

 

Erdoğan called this election the holiday of democracy in his country.

 

Iran and Turkey are essential and strategic partners in the West Asian region with extensive political, security, and commercial relations.

 

Iran’s support for the Turkish nation and Erdogan during the coup in this country is one of the most important manifestations of the two countries’ closeness in recent years.

 

Religious and cultural commonalities have brought the people of the two countries very close to each other.
