WANA (Mar 04) – Ayatollah Seyed Ebrahim Raeesi received “Rafael Grossi”, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, this Saturday afternoon.

 

Referring to Iran’s history of extensive cooperation with the Agency, Dr. Raisi said that the visit of officials of this organization to Iran is an indication of the strong will of the Islamic Republic of Iran to cooperate constructively with the Agency.

 

Ayatollah Raisi stated that Iran has had the highest level of cooperation with the agency based on good faith and emphasized: “We expect that the view of the Atomic Energy Agency will be completely professional and that the political powers that seek their own goals will not overshadow the IAEA’s activities.

The President of Iran criticized Israel’s non-membership in the Atomic Energy Agency and demanded that Europe fulfill its obligations in Iran’s nuclear issue. ” The Europeans also did not fulfill their obligations in this agreement, although Iran adhered to its obligations and this adherence has been confirmed more than 15 times in the IAEA reports.” Dr. Raisi said.

 

Referring to Grossi’s talks with Iranian officials during his trip to Tehran, the President Raisi expressed his hope that the IAEA will act based on professional and fair behavior and respect the principle of neutrality to express the reality of Iran’s peaceful nuclear activities.

In this meeting, Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, also expressed his satisfaction with the trip to Iran and especially the meeting with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and called the cooperation between Iran and the IAEA long-standing and positive, and stated that the continuation of this process requires continuous cooperation in order to strengthening bilateral relations.

 

Rafael Grossi emphasized that today the use of nuclear energy is inevitable for people’s welfare. Also referring to his recent talks with Iranian officials, he said: “My colleagues and I had very constructive and positive meetings with Iranian officials.”

Stating that it is well known who was to blame for the current situation of the JCPOA, the director general of the Atomic Energy Agency stated: “The ill-wishers do not want bilateral cooperation between Iran and the agency to be successful, and the best answer to them is to develop bilateral collaborate.”

 

“In the conversation with the Iranian officials, I found their determination to continue the nuclear negotiations and revive the JCPOA in order to secure the interests of the Iranian people, and I am sure that if there is political will, it is possible to return to the JCPOA.” Grossi stated.
