WANA (June 16) – During the past few days, some American media outlets have published news that none of the Washington and Tehran officials have confirmed. These are false media information about direct talks between Iran and America.

A significant issue in the new mainstreaming of the American media is the concealment of Washington’s previous claims regarding the termination of talks and the continuation of diplomacy with Iran after last fall’s unrest in Iran.

The occurrence of protests in Iran also changed Iran’s foreign relations. In those days, the European Union imposed new sanctions intending to protect human rights in Iran. Western heads of state even hastily supported the street riots.

The West thought that Iran’s regime would fall with the start of a new rebellion. Therefore at that point, their efforts and belief were that not only was there no reason to talk and interact with Tehran on various issues, but they should also work with the rioters to accelerate the downfall of the government in Tehran.

The backing for last fall’s protests all around Ian was not limited to linguistic support, but the West and some Arab countries, as well as Tel Aviv, went to the aid of the rioters in the political, security, and media fields, but the result of that help could not bring about a significant change in favor of Iran’s enemies.

The Iranian government quelled the protests within a few months. It immediately pursued its foreign policy program by improving its ties with Russia, China, the Middle East, Latin America, and other countries.

The positive happenings in improving Iran’s international relations with some countries brought the anger of Tel Aviv and the surprise of the West. In the first months of 2023, the West was practically disappointed with the regime change in Iran, and there were whispers about their desire to restart negotiations on various issues, especially the nuclear case.

While Iran has always emphasized the need to continue dialogue to reach an agreement to lift sanctions and has never deviated from this strategic approach, the flow of Western media is as if the initiative was and is in the hands of the Western side.

It is evident that after Iran’s active and effective actions in continuing to cooperate with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), managing internal objections, and removing unprecedented tension in regional relations, the Western side has no choice but to accompany Iran’s initiatives.

Highlighting and starting the political game with three issues, human rights, nuclear agreements, and accusing Iran of helping Moscow in the war between Russia and Ukraine, none of them could ground Tehran and make the West win these conflicts.

The inherent arrogance of the West does not allow it to admit failure in overthrowing the regime in Iran, but America, the governments of the Green Continent, and the rulers of the Arab countries should deal with this reality and find a way to interact with Tehran positively.
